Why should I rent rather than buy my ski wear?

The best ski clothing is, justifiably, expensive. The materials used are incredibly light, durable, warm and breathable and will cope with virtually any conditions to be found on top of a mountain. There is also, of course, a fashion element with a huge variety of colours, shapes and styles on offer.

The cheapest ski wear is best avoided altogether!

At Skismart we believe that everyone, from beginners to experts, from infants to adults, should be equipped with quality clothing. If you’re comfortable on the slopes you’ll be able to focus on developing your skiing or snowboarding skills and enjoying your holiday.

So rather than spending hundreds or even thousands of pounds on new ski clothing (and then storing it in the loft for 51 weeks per year!), come and hire your gear from us at a fraction of the cost. It’s simple, fun and cost-effective.

In the interests of transparency we show the RRP (recommended retail price) of all items so you can see the savings to be made!

What ski wear brands do you offer?

Skismart stocks only premium quality European and North American brands, including Spyder, Helly Hansen, The North Face, Eider, Schoffel and Killy, in a huge range of styles and colours.

How new is your clothing?

Our stock is all new for the 2017/18 season, and is replaced and rotated regularly. Between each hire, every item is professionally cleaned and thoroughly quality checked for any wear and tear.

What ages and sizes do you cater for?

We’ve got the whole family covered! Skismart carries adult sizes from XS to 2XL, children from age 3 to 7 and juniors from 8 to 16.

How do I check what sizes to order?

Please refer to the size guides accompanying each item. It is important to note that each brand uses its own size convention, so it’s best to look at the measurements (for chest, waist, hips, inside leg etc) and to select on that basis.

If you are uncertain what sizes you require, we recommend you make use of our free ‘try before you fly’ service for complete peace of mind ahead of your holiday.

Can I book jackets and pants in different sizes?

Yes, of course. You can order any combination of sizes as required.

Can I combine any jacket with any pant?

Yes, no problem. Each jacket and pant has one or more recommended pairing based on style and colour, but you’re welcome to mix and match if you wish!

How far in advance should I make my hire booking?

We recommend you book as early as possible, especially if your trip is during our peak periods of Christmas, February half term or Easter. Reservations may be made up to 12 months in advance.

Booking early also ensures you obtain our best prices.

We’d also love you to register with Skismart, and in return you’ll be the first to receive future discounts and special offers.

What are your minimum and maximum hire periods?

You may book for any period of time from a minimum of 7 to a maximum of 30 days.

I’m part of a larger group. Can we place a group order with Skismart?

Yes, definitely. Please contact us at info@skismart.co.uk if you wish to place an order for 10 or more people. The earlier the better, of course, if you intend to book during our peak times of Christmas, February half term or Easter.

For larger chalet groups we can also arrange direct delivery to European destinations, subject to certain conditions. Again please contact us at info@skismart.co.uk for details.

Do you supply other ski clothing or equipment?

We focus on jackets and pants for skiers and snowboarders. These are the key high cost items that will keep you warm and dry. For hygiene reasons we don’t hire out clothing worn next to the skin such as thermals, socks and gloves, and in any case these are relatively cheap to buy.

Can you deliver to a P.O. Box address?

Unfortunately not, as our couriers require a signature for all deliveries.

I live outside the United Kingdom – can I use your service?

We can only ship to United Kingdom addresses. However, for larger orders, we can arrange delivery direct to your chalet or resort within Europe subject to certain conditions. Please contact us at info@skismart.co.uk to discuss your requirements.

Can I change my order once it’s been placed?

Yes, you can do so online. If you wish to change your choice of clothing this is of course subject to availability.

How do I cancel an order?

Orders may be cancelled online no later than 21 days prior to the commencement of your booking and will attract a full refund.

How and when are orders delivered?

All our orders are delivered by private courier to your home or work address as directed. Please note that a signature is required.

We use DPD’s guaranteed next day service which offer all customers:

  1. A one hour time window for delivery, notified in advance by text message
  2. The option to change the delivery time to later in the day or to postpone to the following day
  3. A further option to have the order delivered to a local collection point, of which there are more than 2,500 across the United Kingdom

Are you able to deliver at weekends?

Yes, we offer a seven day dispatch service so Saturday and Sunday deliveries are possible.

What if there is a problem with my order?

We recommend you contact us within 24 hours of receipt of your delivery, so please try on your ski wear as soon as you receive it.

If there is an issue with your order we will do our utmost to provide a substitute item within 24 hours and in good time for your trip!

How do I return my items after use?

Your order will be delivered in a durable rigid box and the same box should be used to return the items after your hire period.

Return postage is pre-paid and we simply ask you to drop off your box at any one of DPD’s 2,500 collection points within 48 hours of the end of your hire period. Full details will be enclosed with your order.

Please note that items should NOT be cleaned as they require specialist treatment. We take care of that!

Why should I register with Skismart?

If you want to hire any items you’ll need to register with us so we can process your order. As a customer you will then be guaranteed our best prices in the future, priority booking of new clothing ranges and, if you wish to receive them, special offers from our affiliates.

We want to keep you happy year after year so, unlike some businesses, we promise that any ‘special offers’ will never be directed at new customers at the expense of our existing members!
